RE: Selecting a new refrigerator: Dometic RM3962/Norcold N1095?

Well, our Dometic refrigerator/freezer/ice maker is still doing just fine and has been since 1993.
Rather than a very small sample size popularity poll, it might be more telling to ask both manufacturers "WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT YOUR REFRIGERATOR THAT WILL MAKE IT PERFORM BETTER FOR ME."
"great statement and good advice".. Just might work?.

OK now what is the problem with flue

was checking out the most recent web-site info on J fueling stations on way west by south to AZ and came on information provided by the Jay people.. seems some areas are quite low on Diesel. is this a sign someone didn't pay the bill or are we back to low shipments as has happened not so distantly..?
What is the forum intel on this.?? Is this across the board with other providers..?

RE: Crank up satellite dishes, any feedback?

HC, have seen what you refer to and they appear to work ok.. did see that is some wind, there was quite a bit of swing movement, that might interfer with reception.. in strong winds, much movement.. ask around and take your chances but the prices are not bad..

RE: early X-Mas present

For what it's worth I just paid $1.59 for off road diesel in bulk. Questioned driver if his delivery were off/less demand and he said no. How can fuel come down 400% if sales are not off that much?
As has been said befor., "It is an ill wind that dosen't blow some one good". This down turn in the economy and high fuel prices has brought to many the need to "start the process of thinking" befor doing any thing else. Money maybe less but it is going further..

RE: EZ Gas Fill Stations

Never had a problem in a Flying J, or Petro. A few tight ones in T/A and Pilot's. You also have some Speedways, BPs and Shells that have RV friend stations. Just have to look before you pull in.
You may already be aware of the dual fuel stations at the "rv islands." gas and diesel.
Also, it is real good to go online and email for directories of fuel plazas from the above mentioned providers.. Within a few days, they will send such directories as needed.. also, go online and research the route/truck plaza providers and make up a list of your fueling stops both coming and going.. If using a GPS system, you may be able to use that to locate your fueling stops.
Good luck and safe travels and of course, cheap fuel..

RE: Wind vs Awning

When the wind starts blowing the awning comes in...
If we leave the campground the awning comes in...
When we go to bed the awning comes in...
When we are in the desert of AZ, we follow the same rules of use as the above poster.. cheaper to keeper than leaving her out and about.
Have assisted in recovery of quite a few awning in full sail and it is usually after bed time that the screams are heard.. not a fun thing to be doing but someone has to help the "un-believ-ing".

RE: Taking over payjments on a class a

Ok. let me ask this question.. would you not be entering into a deal whereby you would be taking over paymensts from an overanxous seller at a cost that is more than the current value of said rig..??A lot of sales are due to folks who are "up side down" with the finance company..

RE: Independant inspection

Everyone here always tells people to get an independant inspection on a used coach. I'm buying a coach from a dealer, which is giving me a 2 month warranty, and says that their service department will go through it with a fine tooth comb before delivery. How do I get an independant inspection? Where do I take it? When I asked them about doing something like that, they said it is not something they normally do.
My suggestion would be to ask on this forum and perhaps on the forum named after the mamufacturer and ask about this particular coach.. you will get much need feedback on problem areas. also, you may learn that this rig is not what you want,. again, asking for a independent inspection without quailifying with the make and model..
owner forums is the one place to survey for info.. Know more than the seller is the best position that a buyer can be in...
When we bought our coach, both my wife and I kwew more about the make up of the coach basics than the sales man.. You need more research..

Just my opion for what it is worth, but if you have brought up the question, 30 degree or what ever, it must mean that you are uncomfortable with it and you should get a professional opion.. Your comfort level when driving is important..

RE: Chassis Batteries

Just the opposite. The disconnect is for the house batteries.
Agree with this post and you will know when the "house batts" are off, the lights will not work in the coach.. if u are on shore power or not as to the need tdo "disconnect at all"..
But the above post is correct, ddisconect will not aid the chassis power system..

RE: How the mighty have fallen...

This seems to be somewhat like stocks; for some reason people seem to bail when the market is at its lowest. You could probably sell that for close to todays price when (IF???) the market recovers.
For sure you are correct.. some folks call it, "buying low and selling high" while others might say," when things are that cheap, walk away, something is wrong with it ".. Looks like a great buy if only my stocks would come up a little and then, maybe a trade...

RE: LED Tail Light Conversions

With LED tail lights, for any of you guys who go north to south this time of year, you want to remember that they do not put out any heat to melt the snow off of them. You might want to also consider heated lenses. Yes, they actually make such a thing. The snow just covers up the LED lights just like it covers everything else on the back of the rig, and the people behind you can not see the lights.
Great reminder. thanks for the imput.. will install a broom to sweep the snow. better yet, I'll sweep and the wife can drive.. But yes, this was a good reminder..

RE: Fueling RV

Just to get in a word or two. I had an uncle who, having a large farm, would blow stumps with a couple of quarter sticks of dynamite, and would you believe, he was a chain smoker.. never blew himself up.. lots of trees and a few boulders, and lots of Camel butts.. died at an early age of 56 yrs from a bad heart.. BUT he never would think of NOT shutting off his car or tractor or truck engines while fueling.. His words were,"What you want to blow the place up"????

RE: Vacuum

Just a quick inter-ject but I have found that the coach needs the same vacume as the car and garage.. A wet and dry. and small, like the 1hp-1 1/2 gal by shop mate.. great for sucking the mess out of the carpets, sucking the junk up out of the drains and portabe and will take a beating, cost for me was $29.00 at Wally world. comes with attachments and filters are cheap. think that you will like it and again, great around the house, shed and garage.. might add, it is cheap and hardy..

Has it changed any?

Back in the days of the cavemen, when the saber tooth came into the homestead, only a simple yell and the wife and kids were ready to move. Now it seems that when the old man wants to hit the road early, and the same " simple yell" is heard in the homestead "rv",. Nothing happens, no movement, nothing, I ask, have things changed or do we not yell loud enough..? Even with an "early warning" given nothing happens.. After I get an answer or two, remind me to erase this post before the wife sees it..
